NTI- "Snow Day Packs"
All Pleasants County Schools use Non-Traditional Instruction Packets to make up for instructional time lost for up to five days of school that are cancelled due to weather.

On Friday, December 7 your child will bring home five (5) Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) Packets- also called “Snow Day Packs.” These are “Re-Imagined Instructional Days” and will include work that will take the place of the 6th through 10th cancelled school days due to weather or snow during this school year. Because your child will be completing this work these days will not have to be made up.

Starting with cancellation #6, have your child complete 1 packet for each snow day and turn the completed packet(s) in to their teacher the following day of school.

It is important that you do not have your child complete any of the work early or work ahead. Students should complete the work in the assigned packet on the cancelled school day and not work on it ahead of time. The purpose of this is to provide instruction to students on the cancelled day. If we do not use all of the days, students should turn in the unused packets to their teacher.

As of November 30 we have had two cancellations due to weather (flooding), so we will have 3 more cancellations before we begin using the N.T.I. Packets. When the all-call is made for the snow day, the message will also state what number N.T.I. Packet should be completed for that day. All work is basic skills and review of previously taught material. All packets include instructions written by the teachers.

If you have any questions, please call the school or contact your child’s classroom teacher.
