35th Annual FFA Ham and Bacon Show

Due to the impacts and the safety precautions of the COVID-19 outbreak, the 35th Annual St. Marys FFA Ham and Bacon Show and Sale has been moved online. The sale will start at 6:00 P.M. on May 18th and will conclude on the May 21st at 6:00 P.M. The sale platform we will be using is www.cowbuyerlive.com. All bidding participants will be required to register through the website and then will be given further instruction for bidding, purchasing, and pickup. The website is fairly easy to navigate, but we have included the directions for using the website below to help clear up any questioning.

All of the meat has already been processed and packaged. Just like our normal sale, the meat will be sold by the pound. The price you bid will be the price you pay per pound and will be multiplied by the amount of pounds the meat weighs. We will be using the www.cowbuyerlive.com website to complete the bidding process ONLY. We would like to receive payment in either cash or check form when picking up the meat or mailed to St. Marys High School at 2330 North Pleasants Highway, St. Marys, WV 26170.

To continue social distancing practices, those who purchase a meat product will be able to pick up and pay for it on May 22nd, 2020 from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. Buyers will be advised to remain in their vehicle and allow the FFA to deliver the meat purchased and receive payment either in cash or check form. Checks should be made out to: St. Marys High School FFA. If you win the bid on an item and are unable to pick up the product on that day, please contact the Agricultural Department at the High School.  We will arrange another time for you to pick up and pay for your purchase.
As in the past, buyers have had the option to donate the products they purchase to one of the 3 available funds.  If you win the bid and would like to donate back to one of the three funds, you can let us know on May 22nd, when you come and pay for the item purchased or call Mr. Childers. We will then advertise the item by the pound and sell it at the Agriculture Department.

The three funds that you are able to donate back to are:
The Delno Higgins Scholarship Fund
The Alpha Ankrom Scholarship Fund
The FFA  Chapter Fund

Please bear with us as we go through this new process and please feel free to reach out if there are any issues with bidding or the website. If you would like to bid on an item, but for some reason have no way of getting to the website, we will be available May 21st from 1:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. at the agricultural department where you can come and access the website. If you need to bid through this process, we ask you to call the agricultural department and let us know you are coming. We apologize that we had to revise to this method this year and not the actual in-person sale, but with the circumstances that we are in, this was the best solution. We appreciate the community involvement during these unusual times and hope you will still be able to support our chapter, our scholarship funds, and our FFA members.

The phone number for the Agriculture Department at the High School is 304-684-3298.
