PRESS RELEASE- 12/30/2020
Press Release from Pleasants County Schools Superintendent Michael Wells, Ed.S.
Earlier today Governor Jim Justice issued updated guidelines for all public schools in West Virginia.
All schools in West Virginia will be on remote learning for two weeks from January 4th through January 15th. Students enrolled in traditional learning will be remote during this time and follow their school’s remote learning plan.
Beginning Tuesday, January 19 students in grades Pre-K through 8 will return to in-person learning. Grades 9-12 will return to in-person instruction as long as Pleasants County is not red on the DHHR Daily Map.
We will continue to update families on our status using pleasantscountyschools.com and our all-call system.
Students enrolled in the West Virginia Virtual School will begin Second Semester, Part 2 Courses on January 4 and these changes will not affect the Virtual School.
Please visit pleasantscountyschools.com for additional information on key mitigation strategies, data that guided the state’s decision, employee vaccination protocols and other resources. This information is listed under “district news.”
