As you are probably aware, increased cases of Covid 19 are happening in our county and around us. Please do not send your children to school if they are sick.
Please refer to the “How to Screen for Covid Chart” from the WVDE for list of symptoms to be aware of. This chart states that if your student comes to school with a cough or shortness of breath you will be asked to pick them up. If they have 2 of the following, you will be asked to pick them up: fever (100.4 or above), chills, muscle pain, sore throat, fatigue, congestion, loss of smell or taste, diarrhea, vomiting, or nausea you will be called to pick them up. If your student has any of the symptoms mentioned, you will need to either
1. Keep them home for 10 days from the start of symptoms. After this time if they have been fever-free for 24 hours without medication and their symptoms have resolved, they can return to school.
2. Take them to a doctor. If the doctor feels the student is ok to be in school, they can return, but the school will need a doctor’s excuse.
By following the WVDE guidelines, we can do our best to keep Covid-19 out of our schools. Thank you.
