The 8th grade Spanish students were learning body parts vocabulary words in Spanish, and completed an "Ojo de Dios" as an extension activity! "Ojo de Dios" translates to "Eye of God". Like some Native American tribes make dream catchers, the "Ojo de Dios" was traditionally made by Native Americans in the northwestern part of Mexico. It is made to bring prosperity and blessings on the families and communities of those who make and have them

PCMS will host a Snowball Winter Dance on Tuesday, February 27th. Only parents/guardians that have signed up and are an approved volunteer will be able to chaperone. The dance is semi-formal.

Three Pleasants County Middle School students have had their artwork chosen to compete in the WV Art Education Associations WV Youth Art Month Exhibit. Schools from each of the 55 counties were eligible to submit 11 works per county.
The work will be exhibited for YAM at the Parkersburg Art Center March 1st through March 9th and for Arts Alive at the WV Department of Arts, Culture and History Auditorium in Charleston on April 26th.
The students are eligible to win prizes for their work including Best in Show, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place for the category their piece is entered. Over $2,400 in prizes will be award to students k-12 from across the state.
Reception and Awards presentation is open to the public and will take place March 9th at 1:00pm at the Parkersburg Art Center.



7th graders in Mr. Jones’ class created a chart comparing three of history’s great civilizations: Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Greece, in terms of their governments, religions, economics, social structure, arts, and writing.

PCMS Thanks Momentive for LED Lighting Upgrade
Momentive Sr. Operations Manager, Cody Henthorn approached PCMS school administration about making an LED upgrade to the lighting in the PCMS Gymnasium. Momentive site leader, Luiz Mello and Sr. Manager Engineering and Maintenance, Jason Martin, were in full support of the lighting upgrade. Momentive donated LED lights to PCMS which totaled $4,330.00. Pleasants County Schools Maintenance Director, Tim Shultz and the Pleasants County Maintenance Department installed the new lighting. Pleasants County Middle School would like to thank Momentive for the generous donation of LED lights for the PCMS gymnasium. The LED lights make a big difference, and are a great benefit for the multiple school and community teams that use the PCMS Gymnasium.
