Correction: SMES students will be transported back to SMES at 10:45 AM. Lunch will be served when they return to the elementary school.

SMES students will be transported back to SMES at 9:30 AM. Power was restored and our Maintenance/ Facilities Department confirmed with Mon Power that the connection is stable and the issue that caused it is resolved. Once they are back at SMES, they will resume a normal schedule. The process to transport students back and get them to their classrooms will take a few minutes. Thank you to everyone who was on standby incase the outage lasted longer.

Due to a power outage, all SMES students will be bussed to St. Marys High School after drop-off is complete. They will return to SMES after power is restored. Plans are in place if food service is needed for SMES students while at SMHS. We will send updates.

Friends and Family Night at the Scholastic Book Fair on Wednesday, October 08, has been canceled. We apologize for the inconvenience.

World Teacher Day- October 5

‼️Attention 🟡🔵BES & 🔵🟡 SMES Families: All families that register for Parent/Teacher Conferences in October will be entered into a drawing to win a tote of Family Activities from #WVDE Engaging Families WV Program. ✅ One winner from each school. ✅ The winning family will take home their tote the night of the conferences. 🥇 Must register and attend conferences to win. 📸 Winning family must agree to have their photo taken. 👩‍🏫 Principals will contact winners!

Ordering online is the preferred method of purchasing photographs. Picture order forms were sent home with students 2 weeks ago. If you need an order form, please pick one at SMES tomorrow morning.

2025-2026 Early Dismissal Schedule

St. Marys Elementary Announcement 9/3/25:
All students and staff are safe. A smoke detector was triggered, but there was no actual issue. The building has been thoroughly checked and cleared by school maintenance and local emergency services. We have received the official "all clear," and the building has resumed normal operation.
