Objective:
To equip more people across West Virginia to communicate respectfully and effectively by reducing communication barriers and strengthening community inclusion.
Who Should Attend:
Families, educators, school staff, and community members who want to learn more about American Sign Language and Deaf culture.
Instructional Approach:
Engaging, visual, and interactive lessons featuring live ASL modeling, short practice activities, and a Q&A segment.
Accessibility:
Live captions enabled. All materials will be provided in accessible, visual formats with both ASL and spoken English interpretation.
Special Feature:
Each session will include a Guest Spotlight—hearing directly from members of the Deaf community as they share personal perspectives and model real-world conversations.

1st 9 weeks Perfect Attendance recognition for K, 1st, and 2nd Grades! (Unfortunately, there were a couple students absent during the photo opportunity.) GREAT JOB TO ALL! We love to see every student every day!
Our youngest Bobcats love school! This group of kiddos earned perfect attendance recognition for the 1st nine weeks.
Each student decorated a popsicle stick! Then, Mrs. VanValey created a beautiful piece of artwork to represent each member of our BES family!

Fourth Grade students were on a roll this week! Miss Carder's class will proudly display the "Pawsitive Paw" for cafeteria behavior. Mrs. Steele's students earned the "Golden Stopwatch" for time on task during iReady lessons.



Some of our softball athletes explained to their Bobcat friends the importance of being proactive at practice and how they used Habit #6, Synergize, to end their season as Runners-up in their tournament.



Mrs. Buchanan led a lesson on friendship today in Fourth Grade! Students gifted each other a friendly boo message!

Next week is Red Ribbon Week! We have planned a Super Simple Spirit Week to help with this Mighty Message!

Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students would like to shout a BIG THANK YOU to the Belmont Volunteer Fire Department for giving an important lesson on fire safety and for bringing the fire truck!
Discovery World's mobile STEAM lab provided students with the opportunity to create art with a 3-D pen.
Discovery World's mobile STEAM lab arrived Oct. 14 at BES. Students were excited and fascinated to realize they could program little robots!
