Albert Yanni Scholarship Applications
Applications are now being accepted for the 2025-2026 Albert Yanni Scholarship, which provides high-quality career technical education (CTE) students with an opportunity to pursue advanced education and/or training related to their career aspirations. Recipients of this $2,000 scholarship are chosen by WVDE staff members. Applicants selected must present proof that they have maintained their eligibility requirements before awards are presented. It is time for new applications for the OJ Stout Scholarship. A copy of the application can be found in the commons or please ask Mrs. Rinard. OJ Stout Scholarship is only available to male students.

We have students receive the OJ Stout Scholarship as well as Charles and Anna Gault Scholarship Fund in the past for students. So take the time to apply !

Scholarship for the SMHS Class of 2026
E. Glenn Moore/James L. McIntyre SCHOLARSHIP: This packet will be available for students in the scholarship rack located in the commons or the packet will also be available for download on our website at www.lrefcu.org, announced on our Facebook page or available to pick up at any of our office locations.
1. Each year Long Reach Federal Credit Union will award two graduating seniors
who have been accepted at an accredited school of learning such as a college,
university, trade school or institution offering student training programs, a
$1,000.00 scholarship.
2. In order to qualify for the scholarships, the students must be a member of Long
Reach Federal Credit Union and must have submitted the required application
forms. The student must be enrolled full-time at the time of receiving the
scholarship.
3. Scholarship applications will be judged by an independent judging committee,
excluding Long Reach Federal Credit Union board members. Awards will be
presented at either the high school award ceremony or at the graduation.
4. The award will be given in two installments of $500.00, one in July and one in
December. To be eligible for payout, the student must show proof of enrollment
in the form of a tuition bill from a qualified institution. The award will be
deposited in the winner’s account at the Credit Union.
5. Winning entries will be judged on involvement in school activities, community
participation, adult or teacher recommendation, and essays the student will write.
6. The scholarship committee will be appointed by the board president in
consultation with the board of directors. The committee shall consist of no more
than five (5) and no less than three (3) people.

Scholarship Archived Announcements.
The Heisman High School Scholarship program will recognize a winner from each high school in the nation that has student participation in the Program by way of application. The top male and female applicants from each state will be awarded $1,000. Among the
top male and female applicants from each state, the twelve (12) most outstanding will be identified as national finalists and win at least $2,000. Of the national finalists, a male and a female winner will be selected as the winner of the $10,000 National Heisman High School Scholarship. West Virginia's newest and most prestigious scholarship - the Underwood-Smith Teaching Scholars Program - helps recent high school graduates pursue rewarding careers as West Virginia teachers in the fields of math, science elementary education or special education. Students can receive up to $10,000 per year to pay for eligible college expenses, including tuition and fees, room and board, and textbooks. Up to 25 new scholars are accepted each year.
