Full-Tume Employee Mandatory Training

**Mandatory Policy Training is now active for 2023-2024 on Vector Training.

The 20+ required modules once completed satisfy all policy training required by state and county policy.

You may complete them in one sitting or you may do them little by little over multiple days in any order. As you complete trainings you will see the percentage of completion updated on your home page at the top of the screen. 

 

When you return to work in August, you will still complete the Verification Statement Sheet of the policies with your principal/ building supervisor.

 

*Staff Members (non-261) that complete all required modules by 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 9 are not required to report to work on Thursday, August 10. Employees that do not complete all modules prior to that time will report for normal working hours on August 10 to complete the modules with their principal/supervisor.

 

**People who work extended day contracts (such as 210, 220, and 230) must complete the modules on their own time in order to get August 10th as an in-lieu day (day off) and may not complete modules during their extended day contract time if they wish to not report on August 10.

 

***261 Employees do not get the day off for completing modules early.

 

Changes/ Updates for 2023-2024:

  • The modules on Eating Disorders and Self-Injury are required every three (3) years. This will be an “off-cycle year,” so these modules are listed under New Employees and should only be completed by employees who are new to the county.
      • It will appear under New Employees on everyone’s page, but only new employees should complete them
      • The next “on cycle” year for this training will be 2025-2026.
  • The Eight (8) Hour Special Education Training is a one-time only training. This should only be completed by new employees this year.
      • It will appear under New Employees on everyone’s page, but only new employees should complete them. If you are coming from another county and completed this training with your previous employer, you do not need to complete the training again.
  • The West Virginia Legislature passed HB 3035 early this year which has a lot of provisions. Within that bill, it added a new requirement for trainings on Dyslexia and Dyscalculia. This will be an annual training requirement.
    • All employees will complete an overview module on this topic. 
    • Certain employees must complete an in-depth training on the topic. (Elementary Teachers/ Principals, Special Ed. Teachers, ALL ECCATs and Aides.)
      • If you are required to complete the in-depth training, I have assigned you the extra two modules. The two extra modules have been suggested by WVDE who reviewed the available courses on Vector (since a majority of WV Counties use Vector.)
      • If you are not required to do the extra modules, I have not assigned them to you. 
  • The three modules on “Education and Prevention of Sexual Abuse of Children” is required every 2 years. 
    • This will be an “ON-cycle” year, so ALL employees will complete this during this school year.
    • During “on-cycle” years ALL employees will complete those modules including those who were employed the previous year. 
    • If you are having trouble with Module 1 and Module 2 of the Sexual Abuse Prevention trainings while in a school building, it is most likely a filter issue. The remedy for this is: 1) use a school iPad OR 2) complete those modules at home.

**Suggested Trainings are also available for PD/SD Credit. These are optional and not required. They are listed under the mandatory/required trainings. You have the option of completing any of these trainings that interest you or you feel would benefit you in your position.

 Extra Training in the “Library” must be approved by your supervisor/principal to take for credit and must apply to your position.
