SMHS Volleyball Update: Any girls interested in playing volleyball for the 2024 season this fall, there is a flex practice on July 10th at 6:30 p.m. If you have not signed up at earlier meetings, we wanted to make sure no one missed out on an opportunity to do so. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Corathers 304-476-3108. A WVSSAC approved physical and proof of insurance are required to begin practicing.

For Friday, June 14,  WVU Parkersburg will be offering registration assistance and an in-person payment opportunity for students planning to take the Abnormal Psychology, PSYC 281, with Loura Rinard for the Summer 2024 term, on Friday, June 14, 2024, at St Marys High School from 10am to 12pm (noon),  This course starts on Monday, June 17, 2024 and ends on Friday, August 9, 2024. Payment needs to be made prior to the start of the course. Payment can be made online or over the phone to the Business Office if unable to be at the high school. Find your account balance Please note: Tuition statements are not mailed to students. 1. Visit wvup.edu/olsis. 2. Log in using your Network ID and Password. Your Network ID is the first part of your WVUP Email. Your password will be the same one you use for your WVUP Email. 3. Choose Account Detail by Term. 4. Choose the current term and click Submit. Due to this evening's weather forecast, graduation will be held in the gymnasium at SMHS. Doors will be open at 6:00 p.m. for family, friends and community members who wish to attend. Graduates should report to the auditorium at 6:15 p.m. in their professional dress. The event will also be livestreamed through the SMHS Facebook page. We look forward to celebrating the class of 2024 at 7:00 p.m.!

Pleasants County Schools follows the state standards for administration of medication (WVDE Policy 2422.8) in West Virginia public school systems. Of particular importance are students who are prescribed LIFESAVING MEDICATIONS as detailed below in WVDE Policy 2422.7 10.1g. 10.1.g. Designated school personnel shall receive and review the emergency medication and medication authorization form and obtain authorization from the certified school RN to administer the medication. The student shall not attend school until both the administration form and medication are signed and received to prevent risking the safety and welfare of the student. The SAT, Section 504, or IEP team shall consider the lack of emergency lifesaving medication(s) as child neglect. If your child requires a rescue asthma inhaler, Epi-pen, glucagon, insulin, or seizure rescue medication at school, then the school nurse must receive the medication and the medication order form PRIOR to the first day of the new school year to ensure your child can attend school safely. A Medication Order Form can be downloaded and printed from the Pleasants County Schools website. Click “Departments” tab, then click “School Nurse” tab. Please complete the form with the assistance of your health care provider and return the form to the school nurse. The parent or guardian must also sign the form granting permission for the medication to be administered by school staff. If you have any questions, please contact the nurse at your child's school. SMHS Seniors: Graduation walking practice for Thurs., May 23rd has been cancelled. Please meet in the Commons at 6:15 p.m. on Sunday, May 26th dressed in your professional attire for graduation! Reminders: If you have not picked up a prize won at the senior picnic, please pick up in the SMHS office. Please be here by 6:15 a.m. on Friday, May 24th if you are going on the senior trip.
