Scholarship for the SMHS Class of 2026

McIntyre SCHOLARSHIP: This packet will be available for students in the scholarship rack located in the commons or the packet will also be available for download on our website at www.lrefcu.org, announced on our Facebook page or available to pick up at any of our office locations.
1. Each year Long Reach Federal Credit Union will award two graduating seniors
who have been accepted at an accredited school of learning such as a college,
university, trade school or institution offering student training programs, a
$1,000.00 scholarship.
2. In order to qualify for the scholarships, the students must be a member of Long
Reach Federal Credit Union and must have submitted the required application
forms. The student must be enrolled full-time at the time of receiving the
scholarship.
3. Scholarship applications will be judged by an independent judging committee,
excluding Long Reach Federal Credit Union board members. Awards will be
presented at either the high school award ceremony or at the graduation.
4. The award will be given in two installments of $500.00, one in July and one in
December. To be eligible for payout, the student must show proof of enrollment
in the form of a tuition bill from a qualified institution. The award will be
deposited in the winner’s account at the Credit Union.
5. Winning entries will be judged on involvement in school activities, community
participation, adult or teacher recommendation, and essays the student will write.
6. The scholarship committee will be appointed by the board president in
consultation with the board of directors. The committee shall consist of no more
than five (5) and no less than three (3) people.

Time Change for Boys' Basketball 12-23-25; Please be aware that Tyler Consolidated boys will only be able to play 2 quarters of JV basketball tomorrow. The JV game will start at 6 pm, the Varsity game will NOW BEGIN AT 7 P.M. Thank you and we hope to see you there!
Reminder: The Lady Devils Girls' basketball teams will play Clay Battelle tonight. JV will tip at 6 p.m. and the varsity will begin at 7 p.m. The Lady Devil volleyball team will be collecting items for the local dog shelter, come out and support both teams!

GAME TIME CHANGE! The SMHS Boys Basketball game tomorrow, Saturday, December 13th at Frontier will now have a tip-off time of 12 Noon for JV and 1:30 pm for Varsity due to impending weather.
SMHS GIRLS BASKETBALL UPDATE! The Girls' Basketball Tournament at RCB will play tonight, game at 4 pm. The girls' games for tomorrow have been CANCELED due to the impending weather for that area.
The Fall LKC banquet will be held on Sunday Dec. 28th at 3:30 in SMHS commons. If your son or daughter earned 1st Team All - LKC in a fall sport or were on a 1st place LKC championship team, they will be eligible to attend. Please make sure you contact your sport's coach if you are attending. Parents, friends and family members of honorees are also invited to attend, the ticket cost for the banquet is $20.00. Come MEET THE TEAMS tomorrow night and watch the SMHS Blue Devil Boys' Basketball team kick off their 2025-26 season at home versus Williamstown. We will introduce the Girls' Basketball, Wrestling and Cheer teams about 5:45 pm before the JV game tip off at 6 pm. Then varsity action will begin about 7:30 pm.
