My name is Matt Williamson. I’m an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Marietta College. Our department, with support from the EQT Foundation, is excited to announce our fourth annual Marietta College Computational Thinking Summer Academy. The purpose of this academy is to introduce computer science and computational thinking at the high school level within our area. Our academy for high school students (incoming 9th-12th graders) will be held on Monday, July 14th through Friday, July 18th at Marietta College. I should note that this is about a month later than when we have held our summer academy in previous years. Students will learn how to design programs, develop games using Unity, solve problems using a computational thinking approach, and learn more about computer science. This will be a day camp, so transportation to and from the campus will be needed for the students each day. Lunch will be provided for the students. I’ve included a letter and flyer for the academy in this email. Please feel free to make copies for your students. More detailed schedules will be provided as we get closer to the academy dates. The cost to attend is $100 per person. To register a student, please fill out our online form at https://bit.ly/3ixGmKn. A minimum $50 down payment is required at the time of registration. Financial assistance is available for participants who qualify. Registration and full payment must be completed by Friday, June 6, 2025. The academy has limited seats, so registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for your time and consideration, and we hope to see your students at our summer academy. Take care, Matt Williamson Matthew D.
