The West Virginia Legislature has removed “educational leave” or what we called locally “leave of educational value” from the list of excused absences for all West Virginia Public Schools. Please see the information below.

The West Virginia Legislature has removed “educational leave” or what we called locally “leave of educational value” from the list of excused absences for all West Virginia Public Schools. ~~~~ If a student goes on a family trip/vacation during the school year, the absences will count towards the limit of 10 days per school year that can be excused with a parent note. Pleasants County Schools will no longer approve “leave of educational value” to comply with this new change to state code.(Changes are due to WV Senate Bill 568; W.V. Code §18-8-4(a).) School sponsored trips that are co-curricular or extra-curricular(including athletics, field trips, activities, and events) are not affected by this and will not count towards the limit of parent notes for absences.
Welcome Pleasants County Pre-K!

Today at 3:30 PM, we sent out email reminders to those who have started the process but still have some forms to complete. Please check your email for a message from Droplet to see if you have any additional forms that need to be completed. At a minimum, everyone should have four forms to complete, with some having as many as twelve forms. We appreciate your continued effort in completing the beginning-of-year forms electronically.
